The three standard photographic papers are glossy, matte, and luster. Selecting the "right" paper really comes down to personal preference and subject matter. When going for a high-impact, "colour saturated" look choose a glossy paper. A matte has almost no finish, is more subtle and has a velvety look to it. Luster, on the other hand, is in between. Luster photographic paper has a low sheen to it but it still achieves the rich colours and deep blacks of the glossy paper. |
